The King of the universe, the Author of life, the great I AM is the Creator of the wealthy, the destitute, the just, the unjust (Matt 5:45), the victim and the oppressor (Prov 29: 13).
People of various skin colours, ethnicities, cultures, personalities, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and beliefs – God has lent His breath to us all. When we cross paths with a fellow human being that may be vastly different from us, let’s remember that the One who fashioned us is the same One who formed them – fearfully and wonderfully.
Father, Your creativity blows my mind.
Thank You for the diversity of the human race. Father, I’ll be the first to admit that I struggle at times to love those who are different from me. Please forgive my hesitation and slowness to extend love. And I’m grateful that You are not like that. You so love the world – every single human to ever exist – that You allowed Jesus Christ – Your One & Beloved Son to die the most gruesome and undeserved death on the cross, in OUR place, for OUR sin, paying OUR penalty, so that those of us who come to repent, realise and trust in the life, death and deity of Jesus Christ will be saved from eternal separation from You and be gifted with eternal unity with You from the moment we first believe.
You did that willingly. You initiated love.
Lord, where differences are seen or when they arise, deepen my understanding of Your love please. Wow Lord, human diversity is a reflection of Your rich, all-encompassing love.
Wow.
Truly, Your invisible qualities—Your eternal power and divine nature—are clearly seen and can be understood from all that You have made. We have no excuse. So Father, help us to love each other like You love us. In word and in deed. Help us to respect each other – with wisdom and humility.
Please lead us through Your Holy Spirit to live as Christ so that our lives may proclaim the hope of Your Good News – to the rich and to the poor – to all of mankind.
Love You Lord.
