All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

You and I.

Because the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure/desperately wicked. Yours and mine. The word heart is used here as a metonym for one’s affections, inclinations, thoughts, internal set of desires and needs that affects decision-making. Without the redemptive and cleansing power of Jesus Christ, our hearts will undeniably be perverted with selfish, God-rebelling, idolatry ambitions. ‘Wisdom is the power to choose truth against your heart.’

Jesus Christ = wisdom.

Christ enables us to know the truth – the Truth about Him, about ourselves and our situations. This Truth will set us free from the depraved nature of our hearts. Liberation from the fatal hold of sin causes us to treasure Truth, hunger for Truth and through His Holy Spirit, we are able to walk against the currents of selfish ambitions, fleeting feelings & desires of the flesh. We are able to act justly, love mercy & walk humbly with God.

Dear Heavenly Father,

thank You that we are created for You. When our soul cries ‘what is my purpose?’, how invigorating to know that each of us have been formed to know & understand You – an eternal endeavour & to make Christ known in our being. So Father take our sinful, calloused affections & inclinations and renew a steadfast spirit within us please. Lord, increase our knowledge of Who You are so that our trust in & love for you will grow and deepen exponentially and our reliance on our self will disintegrate.

Take all of me Lord. Take all my will, my passion, self & pride. Make it wholly Yours Jesus.

Thank You for giving Your all to redeem me. I give my all to You.

Love You Lord.
